You shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover and I’m feeling smug that I’ve never had that problem.
I prefer to watch TV.
And despite their names, some of the best shows I’ve watched in the last month are Bad Monkey (relive the early aughts with a dose of Vince Vaughn!) and Bad Sisters (excellent women-led Irish ensemble, with season 2 premiering November 13th!). Neither are bad, as their titles suggest, and both have provided me with hours of entertainment.
HOWMEVER. Emily in Paris, as whimsical as it sounds, makes me very ranty. You’ve felt ranty, right? It’s not quite stabby, because it doesn’t have the red-hot heat behind it. It’s more of a strong annoyance. Generally when you feel ranty, you end up trapping your partner in your galley kitchen, begging him to tell you why a show about a woman in advertising would be forced to kiss her ex-boyfriend on a jumbotron at a tennis match to appease her clients, or else she’ll be fired?!?? This has never been anyone’s life.
I figured out this weekend it’s a show about fashion, and therefore the plot doesn’t matter and therefore it’s not for me, but also I am in too deep to stop watching now.
Anyway, here are a few things I found delightful last week:
This SNL sketch from the premiere this past weekend (seriously, I’ve watched it 4 times)
My friend Christine’s 400th episode of And That’s Why We Drink
She gives her appearance on Baywatchers (my new pod!) a shout out at the 6:00 mark!
This absolutely precious (and incredible!) performer, doing bird calls
Warning: this is a video with live flatulence and I CACKLED watching it
Excellent costume inspo from The Haunted Mansion!
Did you find those things delightful, too? Let me know!
Ok, love you, bye.
